Naval Crown and jockey James Doyle clinched a powerful victory within the Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The 33-1 shot narrowly denied the William Buick-ridden Artistic Drive to earn coach Charlie Appleby a one-two end on the ultimate day.
The pair had been adopted throughout the road by America’s Campanelle and Austraila’s Artorius in a dead-heat.
“It was a beautiful shock. I might be mendacity if I stated I anticipated him to win immediately,” Doyle informed ITV Racing.
