Shropshire earthquake: 3.8 magnitude quake hits UK close to Shrewsbury

A 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck Shropshire on Monday afternoon, the British Geological Survey (BGS) stated.

The BGS stated the quake occurred at round 3.36pm at a depth of seven km.

“BGS has obtained quite a few stories that this occasion has been felt by residents in Shropshire and surrounding counties,” they stated in an announcement.

Residents within the space reported feeling tremors with some saying their homes had been shaken.

Claire Osborn, from Shropshire, stated on Twitter that she felt the earthquake tremor whereas gardening.

In the meantime Sam Roberts, in Wem, stated: “I undoubtedly felt it…fairly an ordinary expertise!!”
